Recovery Case: Mumbai Police reached Court demanding Non-Bailable Warrant against Param Bir Singh

The troubles of former Mumbai Police Commissioner Param Bir Singh, trapped in the charges of recovery, are increasing. In fact, the Mumbai Crime Branch has moved the court seeking a non-bailable warrant against Parambir Singh. The matter will now come up for hearing on October 29. At the same time, while giving information on this matter, the Mumbai Crime Branch said that on October 9, we had summoned Param Bir Singh for questioning in the recovery case but he did not come and did not give any proper answer. Only after that, we have moved to the court. The fresh notice was filed against Param Bir after at least five criminal cases surfaced in the state and he was suspected to have fled the country.

On the complaint of builder cum hotelier Bimal Aggarwal, a case has been registered against Parambir at Goregaon police station. Aggarwal had alleged that Param Bir Singh extorted Rs 9 lakh from him to escape the raid on the restaurant. Param also forced him to buy two smartphones worth around Rs 2.92 lakh. The complaint alleged that the incident took place between January 2020 and March 2021. Besides Param Bir Singh, sacked police officers Sachin Vaze, Sumit Singh, Alpesh Patel, Vinay Singh and gangster Chhota Shakeel's henchman Riyaz Bhati have been named as accused in the FIR.

Param Bir Singh was removed from the post of Mumbai Police Chief. However, he was transferred to Home Guard after the arrest of Vaze in connection with an SUV carrying explosives near Antilia. After this, Param Bir Singh accused the then state Home Minister Anil Deshmukh of asking Sachin Vaze to take Rs 100 crore every month from hotels and bars in Mumbai, although Deshmukh denied this allegation.
