PM Modi to release First Installment of PMAY-G to Beneficiaries of Tripura

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is going to give a big gift to the people of Tripura today. PM Modi will release the first instalment of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Gramin(PMAY-G) to more than one lakh 47 thousand beneficiaries of Tripura. On this occasion, an amount of more than Rs 700 crore will be transferred directly to the beneficiary's bank accounts through video conferencing. This decision has been taken keeping in mind the geo-climatic condition of Tripura.

Objective of the plan

Union Rural Development Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and Tripura Chief Minister will also be present in the program. Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana- Gramin is one of the ambitious schemes of PM Modi. The objective of the scheme is to provide homeless people with their own shelter. A large number of rural people across the country have got the benefit of this scheme. Under the plan, financial assistance of up to Rs.2 lakh is provided to the below poverty line families. However, this assistance will be for the construction of 'pucca' houses.

Statement of PMO

A statement issued by the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said that more than Rs 700 crore will be deposited directly into the bank accounts of these beneficiaries on this occasion. Keeping in view that the definition of 'kutcha' house has been changed especially for this state. The initiative of the Prime Minister, in view of which such a large number of beneficiaries living in 'kutcha' houses are seeking specific assistance for construction of 'pucca' houses.
