PM Modi expressed Grief over the Death of Historian Babasaheb Purandare

Renowned historian and Padma Vibhushan awardee Balwant Moreshwar Purandare passed away at a hospital in Pune. He was 99 years old. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has condoled the death of Purandare. Here, Maharashtra CM Uddhav Thackeray has announced that Babasaheb Purandare will be cremated with state honours.

Purandare was found suffering from pneumonia a week ago

It is being told that the popular historian by the name of Babasaheb Purandare was running ill for some time. However, doctors informed that Purandare was found suffering from pneumonia a week ago. Also, he was admitted to the city's Dinanath Mangeshkar Hospital for treatment. Where he died on Monday. However, he was on a ventilator in the intensive care unit of the hospital.

According to the doctors, Purandare's health had worsened on Sunday. His condition had remained serious since then. Let us tell you that most of Purandare's works are related to the life of Maratha warrior Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Also, he was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 2019. Purandare was born on 29 July 1922.
