Mob Lynching in Assam: Uncontrollable Crowd Beaten Muslim Elderly, Video Viral

In the Vishwanath district of Assam allegedly selling beef in the area, there has been an incident of rioting with a Muslim elderly. The video of the incident has become viral, in which he is begging to leave the crowd sitting on the knees. After the video has been revealed, the police have detained five people.

Sources said that 68-year-old Shaukat Ali was attacked on the road and locals also fed him pigeon meat as punishment. He is currently undergoing treatment at Government Hospital. According to the district police, two separate FIRs have been registered in this case. One of the fir lodged by Shukat Ali's brother has been lodged. The police started investigating the matter and are looking for people appearing in the video.

Sources said that the crowd from Shaukat Ali asked whether he has a license to sell beef? In the video, a person in the crowd asks Shaukat Ali, 'Are you a Bangladeshi? Is your name in NRC? It is worth mentioning that in recent months, in Madhya Pradesh's Agar Malwa district, the authorities had registered a case against two people under the National Security Act (NSA) for violating the alleged illegal transport of cows and public peace. After the arrival of the government led by Kamal Nath, an action was taken against three people accused of cow slaughter in Khandwa district under the NSA.
