Maruti Suzuki Ciaz Launches New Diesel Engine, Starting Price is 9.97 Lakh

Maruti Suzuki has introduced a new 1.5-liter diesel engine in its sedan car, Ciaz in the country. The price of the new 1.5-liter diesel engine has been kept from 9.97 lakh to 11.37 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new 1.5-liter diesel engine will be available for sale with the old 1.3-liter DDiS200. However, after the new emission norms are implemented in the country, the old engines will be closed.

The 1.5-liter four-cylinder DDiS225 diesel engine has been developed by Maruti Suzuki itself claims that the new engine gives better power delivery and low-end torque. This new aluminum engine generates 94bhp power and 225Nm pickup torque. According to the claim, the mileage of the new diesel engine is 26.82km/l.

Also, the new 6-speed manual gearbox has been given in this new engine. In the new transmission unit, the reverse gear with a lift-lock mechanism is next to the first gear. Maruti Suzuki has introduced a new 1.5-liter engine. However, the company also offers a 1.5-liter 'K15-series' petrol engine, which has replaced the old 1.2-liter unit. Now, this new diesel engine will be given in Maruti Suzuki cars, which will start from Ertiga MPV.

Maruti Ciaz diesel has been priced at Rs 11.37 lakh for base model Delta for 9.97 lakh rupees (ex-showroom, Delhi) and top model Ciaz Alpha. Compared to the old 1.3-liter diesel model, there is an increase of about Rs. 17,000 for spec-to-spec, lower-spec delta trim and around 35,000 rupees for top-spec alpha variants. Let us tell you that the base Sigma variant offered first is not available with the new Ciaz 1.5-liter unit.
