India Draws with Afghanistan in FIFA World Cup Qualifier

India scored a 1–1 draw on Thursday in the FIFA World Cup Qualifier match against Afghanistan by scoring in the second half injury time. This result means that India, ranked 106th in the world rankings, still needs their first win in qualifying. Substitute Ciminlen Dongel (90 + 3) scored when the Indian team was heading towards their second defeat. Afghanisthan took lead by Jelfagar Nazri's goal in the first half. India is still at 4th position in Group E. India has 3 points in four matches while Afghanistan is on 3rd  position with 4 points. This  Match was played at central republican stadium.

Afghanistan scored first goal in the injury time when David Nazam brilliantly move the ball and passed it to Nazri who did the goal. Afghanistan was in great confidence from the last matches performances. Afghanistan team showed good game during the first half with 1-0 lead.

After the first Half, Mandar Rao was replaced by Farooq Chaudhary. There was a chance of first goal for India during 58th minute when captain Chetri did a header but it was saved by Ajiji.  When disappointment was dominating the Indians, Coach Igor Stimak sent Dongel to the ground in place of Kotal in the 76th minute. Dongel scored one goal to save his team from losing the match.
