In the Case of CBI versus Mamata Banerjee Government, a Hearing was Heard in the Supreme Court Today

In the case of the CBI versus the Mamta Banerjee government, there was a major hearing in the Supreme Court today. During the hearing, the court clarified that in the Saradha chit fund scam, the Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajiv Kumar asked to appear before the CBI for questioning. The court asked Rajiv to appear in front of the CBI in Shillong, capital of Meghalal outside West Bengal.

Also, in the case of contempt of the Supreme Court, the court sent a notice to the Mamta Government. The court has also issued a notice to the Chief Secretary, DGP and the Kolkata Police Commissioner on the defamation petition of the CBI. The next hearing of the case will be on February 20.

Earlier, during the debate, Attorney General K.K. Venugopal, who was present on behalf of the CBI, said that the SIT had tampered with the evidence and did not investigate the matter in the right way. He said that constitutional institutions in Bengal have collapsed. Venugopal said that SIT could not keep data and laptop safe.
