This year, no foreign head of state will be the chief guest at the Republic Day Parade in Delhi on January 26. According to sources close to the Central Government, the government will not invite dignitaries from other countries to this function. In fact, every year on the occasion of Republic Day, foreign heads of state are invited to the parade on the Rajpath.

Earlier there were speculations that the Prime Minister or President of 5 big countries could be invited for the Republic Day celebrations, but keeping in mind the circumstances related to Covid-19, the government has decided not to invite any foreign guest this year. Sources related to the government have told this.

According to information obtained by sources within the Government of India, the Republic Day celebrations will now begin on January 23 rather than January 24 each year. Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose's birthday is January 23rd.

Aside from that, sources have stated that, due to the situation with Corona, the Gujarat Summit will be completed virtually. At the same time, the Delhi Police issued a traffic advisory on Saturday regarding the Republic Day parade rehearsal. The parade from Vijay Chowk to India Gate will be practiced on Rajpath on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, according to the advisory. Simultaneously, during the Republic Day celebrations, intelligence agencies issued a terrorist alert. As a result, a large number of security personnel will be deployed.
