File New Report for P. Chidambaram and Son Karti Chidambaram: Delhi Court

The Delhi court has directed the Central Bureau of Investigation and the ED to file a new status report for former finance minister P. Chidambaram and his son Karti Chidambaram in the Aircel-Maxis case. The case will be heard today i.e. on 31 January.

Delhi court has granted anticipatory bail by CBI and ED against former Union Minister P Chidambaram and his son Karti in the Aircel-Maxis case. Along with this, instructions were also given to join the investigation in this case.

This case is related to the Foreign Investment Promotion Board. In 2006, it was approved by former Finance Minister P. Chidambaram. They are alleged to have had the authority to approve proposals up to Rs 600 crore. They are alleged to have not taken approval from the Cabinet of Economic Affairs to approve the project.
