Death Toll Rises: 7 Newborns Died due to Lack of Oxygen in Raipur

3 children died after 8 pm in the district hospital of Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. After this, the family created a ruckus accusing the doctors of negligence. The family members alleged that due to deteriorating health, the children were being referred to another hospital without oxygen.

The relatives of a patient present in the hospital have claimed that not 3 but 7 children have died. He said that I have seen the bodies of seven children being carried one after the other with my own eyes.

Ghanshyam Sinha, the father of a child, alleged that doctors asked him to take him to a private hospital after his child's condition deteriorated. The child's condition was critical. An oxygen cylinder would have been needed to carry him but was not given. They continued to demand cylinders from the people of the hospital management. During this, two more children admitted died and the anger of the relatives broke out on the doctors. On the information of the uproar, the police also reached from Pandri police station.

People calmed down after two and a half hours due to police intervention

There was a ruckus in the Children's Intensive Care Unit for a long time. No one was giving proper answers to the family. After the ruckus that lasted for about two to two and a half hours, the family was calm due to the intervention of the police. By 11 pm, the family members returned with the bodies of the three children. The people of the hospital management started explaining to the other relatives and the atmosphere calmed down. On behalf of the hospital management, it was said that the death of the children was normal.

I saw 7 dead bodies

A family member who came from Bemetara told that three children died in the evening. After which there was a ruckus, but on Tuesday, the body of a child was being taken out every other hour throughout the day. They saw the dead bodies of a total of 7 children being taken from here. Their two children have been kept here for the last 3 days for treatment, but no information about their condition has been given to them so far. All the children whose bodies were found were getting treatment here for the last several days. He was very weak and was admitted to the ICU.

Doctors tell new diseases every day

A father, who has been treating his child here since July 15, said that in these days, doctors told him many types of diseases. Said on the first day that the kidney is bad. After this, it was said that there is a hole in the heart. Then they started saying that your child's life is only for 10 minutes. The exact status of the child has not been given till now. A family member who came from Raipur said that they are neither allowed to see nor tell the condition of children in the ICU citing the rules.
