Bihar: Congress leader Kirti Azad to Join TMC Today

Former MP and Congress leader Kirti Jha Azad will change his side on Tuesday. She will join TMC. West Bengal CM Mamta Banerjee will get her party membership at South Avenue in Delhi. Azad, who has been constantly neglected in Congress, has chosen a new path for himself.

Before Congress, he was in BJP. Azad is the son of former Bihar Chief Minister Bhagwat Jha Azad. As a cricketer, he played the World Cup for India in 1983. In which India had won. He was elected MP from Darbhanga for the third time in 2014 but was suspended by BJP on 23 July 2015. He had directly opened a front against the then Union Minister Arun Jaitley in the Delhi Cricket Association. After this BJP took this step.

In February 2019, Azad left the BJP and joined the Congress, but is said to be angry with his constant neglect. According to the source, Azad is joining Mamta Banerjee's party TMC because he wants big exposure in politics. Azad, who hails mainly from Bihar, can be a big face of Bihar for TMC. He can be made a Rajya Sabha member.
