Battle for the top spot in Delhi and Chennai, both the Teams have reached the Play-offs

Aastha Bhatia

In IPL 2021 Phase-2, there will be a match between two table toppers team Chennai Super Kings and Delhi Capitals on Monday. Despite the fact that both the teams have reached the play-offs, the match can see a high-vaulted fight. The winning team in this match will be sure to finish in the top-2. The teams that finish in the top-2 after league matches have two chances to reach the final.

Delhi team has defeated Chennai 3 times in a row

Talking about the overall head to head in IPL, Chennai has the upper hand over Delhi, but in the last three matches, Delhi has beaten Chennai three times in a row. This also includes the victory in the first phase of the 2021 season. However, after that match, Chennai has shown excellent momentum. Chennai had won four consecutive matches in Phase II in the UAE before losing the match against Rajasthan.

Still nothing clear on Stoinis

Delhi all-rounder Marcus Stoinis missed the last three matches due to injury. Nothing has been clarified by the team management on whether he will be part of the playing-11 against Chennai or not. If he is absent again, Steve Smith may get a chance.

Raina's form a cause for concern for Chennai

Most of the Chennai players are in great form, but the team's star batsman Suresh Raina has been seen struggling throughout the season. He has not been able to score a single half-century in Phase-2 and his best score in five matches is 17 not out. If Raina does not return to form from the playoffs, then problems may increase for Chennai.
