ABVP has won heavily in the Delhi University Students' Union election. ABVP has won three positions including Chairman, Vice President and Joint Secretary. Akshit Dahiya on the post of President, Pradeep Tanwar on the post of Vice President and Shivangi Kharwal on the post of Joint Secretary.

Ankiv Basoya got 20,467 votes while his rival Sunny Chhillar from NSUI got 18,723 votes. Shakti Singh received 23,046 votes against NSUI rival Leena's 15,373 votes. Earlier in the day, vote-counting for the DUSU poll was suspended after six EVMs used for voting were found to be malfunctioning.

Reports say some ruckus also broke out at the counting center today. Police called in extra force to the spot to bring the situation under control. Meanwhile, the Election Commission has clarified that the EVMs used in the DUSU elections were not provided by them or the state election commission and were procured privately by the university.

The results, declared a day after polling on Wednesday, were marred by unusual delays and allegations and counter-claims as members of all political student groups alleged 'tampering' of the electronic voting machines (EVMs). The counting was halted three times and was finally suspended by the university's election commission in the afternoon. However, it resumed around 5:30 pm after all the candidates reached an agreement.
