Rani Rampal Nominated for World Games ‘Athlete of the Year’ Award

Indian Women's Hockey Team Captain Rani Rampal has been nominated for the World Games 'Athlete of the Year' Award. The International Hockey Federation (FIH) has sent Rani's name for the award. Different International sports associations have sent names of 25 players for this award. The winner will be decided via online voting, which ends on January 30. Last year, the Russian pair of Maria Chernova and Giorgi Pataria (Acrobatic Gymnastics) received this award. They received a total of 159,348 votes.

On this, Hockey India President Mohammad Mushtaq Ahmed said, "Rani has been nominated for the World Games Athlete Award, Hockey India is happy to hear that. She is the inspiration of many people in the country. She has made her own place in the game. We are proud of her achievements. We appeal to all hockey fans to vote for Rani and give her support. We hope that this nomination will inspire many players and they will try to follow the footsteps of Rani. "

Under Rani's captaincy, the women's team has qualified for the Olympics for the second time in a row. Through this initiative, the World Games honors players and teams who have performed well.
