Hockey India Announces 24-members Squad for FIH Pro League

Hockey India has announced 24-members team for the FIH Pro League matches against Belgium, the world's number one team. Manpreet Singh has been named as the captain of the Indian team. At the same time, Rajkumar Pal is the only new face in the 24-member team. Harmanpreet Singh will be India's vice-captain in the matches to be held in Bhubaneswar on February 8 and 9. Rajkumar Pal performed well for the Indian junior team last season.

The junior team was runners-up in the Sultan Johor Cup tournament. Veteran PR Sreejesh, Krishna Pathak, Gurinder Singh, Amit Rohidas, Surender Kumar, Jermanpreet Singh, Rupinder Pal Singh are also included in the team. Head coach Graham Reid said that the purpose of these matches is to find the right combination of the team for the Olympic selection and to give every player a chance to substantiate their claim.
