Sourabh Ganguly has denied every rumor about him joining the BJP party. In his recent meeting with Amit Shah on Sunday evening, he said: "We haven't talked about joining BJP and neither I have any plans to join".

Sourabh Ganguly was the only nominated member for the post of BCCI president leading from Brijesh Patel. According to the rumors, "Ganguly may fight election from BJP side in upcoming elections of Kolkata Assembly and he was offered BCCI's president post in return". But it was just rumors clarlified by Sourabh Ganguly himself.

Ganguly said , "when I met Amit shah I didn't even ask any question about what going to happen in BCCI and not once he said we will do this for doing that" while West Bengal's BJP president Dilip Ghosh said, "Gautam Gambhir joined BJP last year if Sourabh wants to join our party he is always welcome".

Ganguly said "I have had heard these political questions before too when I met Mamta didi (chief minister). We just talked about the political activities in Bengal". "I didn't decide who will be the BCCI's New President, BCCI has its own election process. We didn't ask Sourabh to join our party neither did he deny joining" said union minister Amit Shah.
