Scindia’s Announcement: Airports will be built in Four Cities including Kushinagar in UP

Union Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia made a big announcement on Thursday regarding the plans and works of his ministry. He announced to build four new airports in the country and extend the term of the 'UDAN' scheme from August 30 to November 30. One of the new airports will be built in Kushinagar, UP.

Four new airports will be built here

Scindia has set a target of constructing four new airports in the next 100 days under the 'UDAN' scheme. Airports will be built at Keshod in Gujarat, Deoghar in Jharkhand, Gondia, and Sindhudurg in Maharashtra, and Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh. Four new helipads will be built in Himachal Pradesh and two in Uttarakhand. We are going to start 50 new routes in the next 100 days in the UDAN scheme, out of which we will start 30 new routes in the month of October itself.

Scindia said that we have made a plan of 100 days for the ministry. In this 100 day target, we have set three main goals, the first is infrastructure, the second is policy target and the third is reforms. In the infrastructure sector, we will be building four new airports. The first airport will be built at Kushinagar in Uttar Pradesh at a cost of Rs 255 crore. Here aircraft like Airbus 321 and Boeing 737 will be able to land. Kushinagar will become the focal point of the Buddhist circuit.

The new terminal will be built in Dehradun

He informed that Rs 457 crore is being invested in Dehradun airport of Uttarakhand. A new terminal building will be built here. With this investment, the terminal building will be able to handle 1800 passengers as against 250 at present.

Agartala airport will be expanded

Agartala airport in Tripura will have an investment of 490 crores. At present, it carries 500 passengers per hour. After this investment, this capacity will increase to 1200 passengers per hour. Similarly, a total investment of Rs 30,000 crore will be made at Jewar airport in UP.
