Modi in Port Blair to Launch several New Infrastructure Projects.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived on Saturday evening at Port Blair, will launch several new infrastructure projects in the region and also pay the tribute to the people 2004 tsunami victims.

Beside this, PM on Sunday was Expected to rename the three islands in Andaman and Nicobar, from the sources. The three islands – Ross Island, Neil Island, and Havelock Island– are likely to be renamed Netaji Subhash Chandra Boss Island, Shaheed Dweep, and Swaraj Dweep respectively.

Modi, who will be accompanied by the Home Minister Rajnath Singh, will hoist a 1509- metre high national flag at Port Blair to mark the 75th anniversary of freedom fighter Subhash Chandra Bose's declaration of the formation of the Azad Hind Government in 1943. He will also release a commemorative postal stamp and the coin to mark a day.

Later in the day, Modi will lay a wreath at the Martyrs column and will visit the Cellular Jail in the city.

The prime minister will visit the Tsunami Memorial at Car Nicobar. He will lay a wreath at the memorial and light a candle at the Wall of Lost Souls. He will then inaugurate the ITI at Arong, and lay the foundation stone for some infrastructure projects. He will also address a public meeting.

The PM will, later in the day, lay a wreath at the Martyrs Column at Port Blair. He is also scheduled to visit the Cellular Jail in the city and hoist the high mast flag at South Point, Port Blair.

He will pay floral tributes at Statue of Netaji at Marina Park, Port Blair. He will also release the Innovation and Start-Up Policy for Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

The prime minister will inaugurate a 7 MW solar power plant, and solar village. He will also lay the foundation stone for a number of development projects and address a gathering.
