The fifth meeting of the Policy Commission will be held in Rashtrapati Bhavan today. The meeting will be chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Discussions on the issue of drought situation, crisis in agriculture sector, rainwater harvesting and preparedness for Kharif crops will be discussed. This policy is the first meeting of the NDA after the new government. In the meeting, Chief Ministers of various states, union territories, Union ministers and senior government officials will participate.

However, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has refused to attend the meeting. He said that the Policy Commission has no financial right to support the plans of the states, so participating in the meeting is useless. Along with Mamta Banerjee, Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao is also not participating in the meeting.

According to an official statement, the meeting includes aspiring district programs, changes in agriculture, five-point security agenda. In the meeting, Naxal affected districts will be considered in the meeting. This meeting, headed by the Prime Minister, includes Finance, Home, Defense, Agriculture, Commerce and Rural Development Ministers, Chief Ministers of States, Deputy Chairman of the Commission and Chief Executive Officer.
