Many Protests are taking place across the country regarding the National Register of Citizens (NRC). Meanwhile, on Tuesday, the government has responded to the National Citizenship Register in the Lok Sabha. In its written reply in the Lok Sabha, the Ministry of Home Affairs said that the Central Government has not yet taken any decision to prepare NRC at the national level. This question was raised in Parliament by MP Chandan Singh and Nageswara Rao. He asked if the government had any plans to bring NRC in the country. And, if the government is planning, what are the cut-off dates, has the Center discussed this with the states?

Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityanand Rai said in a written reply, 'Till now the government has not taken any decision to prepare the National Register of Indian Citizens (NRIC) at the national level.' Opposition parties are trying their best to surround the government in Parliament on issues like NRC and NPR, including the Citizenship Amendment Act. There was a lot of uproar in the two houses of Parliament on this issue on Tuesday as well. As soon as the proceedings of the House began, the opposition parties united and raised slogans against the government on CAA, NRC, and NPR.

At the same time, earlier in Delhi, opposition parties also held a meeting in protest against CAA and NRC. However, West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee and BSP Chief Mayawati did not attend this meeting.
