A peace march was organized by the Congress and other opposition parties and social and Muslim community organizations on the streets of Jaipur against the Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAA) and the National Civil Register (NRC) on Sunday. A large number of people joined in March. In the meeting held after the peace march, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot categorically announced that the CAA and NRC will not be implemented in Rajasthan. He said that the manner in which protests are taking place across the country and the governments of fellow parties of NDA are not implementing it, in this way the Center should withdraw this law considering the public sentiments and not to implement NRC Must make a clear announcement.

Two days ago, the BJP took out a rally in Jaipur in support of the CAA. On Sunday, various parties including Congress, CPI (M), CPI, Janata Dal Secular, Aam Aadmi Party, Samajwadi Party and several human rights and social and Muslim organizations including PUCL, Jamaat-e-Islami Hind organized joint peace marches.

Chief Minister Gehlot himself and Congress State President and Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot led the peace march which started from Albert Hall in Jaipur. All ministers of the government and leaders of allied parties were also involved in the march. This peace march came out on the Jawaharlal Nehru Marg in Jaipur and ended at the statue site of Mahatma Gandhi. About two to two and a half million people attended the march. However, the march was completely peaceful and no slogans were raised.
