Arun Jaitley Passes Away in AIIMS at the Age of 66

New Delhi. Former Finance Minister Arun Jaitley died in Delhi AIIMS on Saturday. He was 66 and was admitted to the ICU of Delhi AIIMS from 9 August. He took his last breath at 12 o'clock in the afternoon. Jaitley, who had undergone Kidney transplant, also developed cancer.

Senior Bharatiya Janata Party leader and former Finance Minister of the country Arun Jaitley has gone on an Anant Yatra, his death is like the end of an era of politics. Jaitley's death has brought many condolences to the country and many politicians including President Kovind and PM Modi have mourned his death.

At present, the body of Arun Jaitley has been taken to his residence at Kailash Colony Delhi where he can be paid homage till 10 pm tonight.

It is being told that the body of Arun Jaitley will be placed at the BJP headquarters from 11 am to 1 pm for the last darshan of the people where people will pay tribute and last farewell to their beloved leader.

Tomorrow i.e. at 1.30 pm on Sunday, his last journey will leave from BJP headquarters to Nigam Bodh Ghat and the last rites will be performed at around 2.30 pm.

It is worth noting that 67-year-old Jaitley was suffering from soft tissue cancer and was admitted to AIIMS for the last few days. He has been counted among the staunch leaders of the BJP, who at times appeared as a 'troublemaker' for the BJP on many occasions, not only the Modi government, but also during the previous Atal Bihari Vajpayee government.

Jaitley, a veteran BJP leader, was also a big lawyer. Jaitley, who has played a long innings in politics, has been counted among good lawyers. Born on 28 December 1952 in New Delhi, Arun Jaitley did his schooling from St. Xavier's School in Delhi, while graduating from Shri Ram College of Commerce. In the year 1974, he was also the Akshayaksha of the student organization of Delhi University.
