Aarey Protest: Prakash Ambedkar is Under-Arrest

The Politics of Maharashtra has also got heated up due to the felling of trees in Aarey Colony, Mumbai. After Congress, Shiv Sena and Aam Aadmi Party, now the deprived Bahujan Aghadis have also come out against the cutting of trees. Party President Prakash Ambedkar arrived in Aarey to protest on Sunday. However, he has been taken into custody. Ambedkar has appealed to the people to maintain law and order.

There is anger among people over the felling of trees that began just hours after the Bombay High Court verdict. In this episode, Ambedkar reached Aarey on Sunday. He has stated that the VBA has always been against the cutting of trees in Aarey. He came to protest and ask the government some questions. Ambedkar made it clear that he has been detained, not arrested.

He has given information by tweeting that he has been kept in Powai Police Station. The VBA president has asked not to trust the rumors and maintain law and order. Significantly, earlier on Saturday, Shiv Sena spokesperson Priyanka Chaturvedi, who arrived in Aare, was also taken into custody. The state government of the Bharatiya Janata Party has had to face the anger of the opposition parties as well as the ally Shiv Sena on this issue.
