Lockdown continues across the country to control the outbreak of Coronavirus Covid 19.  In this lockdown people are essentially being instructed to stay in homes.  They are being asked not to leave the houses if not necessary.  As part of these efforts, the government has decided to rearrange some of the shows of the eighties that affected large sections of the population.

In fact, the suggestion was raised from social media that during this period of lockdown, the government should re-broadcast shows like Ramayana.  Following these suggestions, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India announced the broadcast of Ramayana.  After this, the demand of broadcasting Mahabharata through social media was also sought, then it was decided to broadcast it again.

In view of the telecast of these two epic serials, the ministry has made the telecast of DD National and DD Bharati mandatory.  Giving this information, Javadekar tweeted – It is mandatory for all cable operators to show both channels of DD.  If channels are not coming in your area, then file a complaint with your cable operator.

Apart from Ramayana and Mahabharata, two more shows of that era have decided to broadcast again.  One is the Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's TV show Circus.  This 1989 TV series was very popular and contributed to making Shah Rukh famous.  The circus will be broadcast on DD National at 8 pm.
