However, soon after that Kapil Sharma backed Sidhu, and said, "Banning someone is not the right solution". Now, netizens are miffed over Kapil's comment and are demanding to boycott the show.

Kapil, in a recent statement reportedly said that people are misguided and run any hashtag like Boycott Sidhu or Boycott 'The Kapil Sharma Show'. He said, "I personally feel that the main issue should be talked about and focus on the problem if it's genuine. Don't divert the youth's attention here and there so that we can't even arrive at the prime concern."

Talking about the ban on Pakistani artists, "We are with the government in all of this but a permanent solution is required. We need to find and kill each one of those who perpetrated the cowardly attack on our soldiers in Pulwama. The entire nation stands with the government."
