Delhi HC Dismisses Juhi Chawla’s Plea on 5G, Imposes Rs 20 Lakh Fine

The Delhi High Court on Friday dismissed the petition filed by actress Juhi Chawla against the implementation of 5G wireless networks across India. The court also imposed a fine of 20 lakhs for abusing the process of law. Delhi court further said that it appears the plea was filed for publicity.

The court also referred to the disruptions faced during the last hearing at the time of judgment. Delhi High court further said that Juhi Chawla had circulated the link of the hearing on social media. Because of this, the hearing was interrupted thrice. Delhi Police should identify these people and take action against them. The Delhi High Court had heard the petition virtually on June 2. Advocate Deepak Khosla appeared on behalf of Juhi.

Juhi filed a lawsuit in Delhi high court against the implementation of 5G:

Before the implementation of 5G technology, Juhi Chawla has petitioned the court against 5G on the grounds that it could have serious, irreversible effects on people, animals and the environment. The court had also questioned Chawla for filing the suit without giving any representation to the government on her concerns related to the technology. Let us tell you that Juhi Chawla has often been against the harmful radiation emanating from mobile towers and has also been making people aware of it.

In 2008, she wrote a letter to the then Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis, warning about the harm caused to mankind, animals, birds and plants by the radiation emitted from mobile towers and Wi-Fi hotspots. The court had also said Chawla and social worker Veeresh Malik and Teena Vachani, needed to first approach the government for their rights and if denied, they should come to the court then.
