Politics has started to heat up in Rajasthan over the film 'Panipat'. Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has also tweeted amid the demand to ban the film. He has advised distributors to talk to the Jatt community. There is an objection from some places in Rajasthan on the part shown in the film about Maharaj Surajmal. Meanwhile, people are also protesting against the film in Bharatpur area.

Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot tweeted and wrote, "The response that is coming from the film about the portrayal of Maharaja Surajmal ji, should not have created such a situation … The censor board should intervene and take cognizance of it. Distributors should immediately communicate with the people of Jat society about the protest of the film". Apart from this, he also talked about respecting great men. He wrote, 'Before making a film one must make sure to show one's personality in the right perspective, so that there is no controversy. I believe that art should be respected by the artist, but they should also take care that the great men and gods of any caste, religion, class should not be insulted.

Former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and MP Hanuman Beniwal have also questioned the matter. The point is that in the film shown, 'Surajmal first helped the Marathas against the Afghans. But when his demands were not met, he did not supported Peshwa Sadashiv Bhau. At the same time, the protesters claim that Surajmal had given shelter to the Marathas for six months.
