The country's famous lyricist Javed Akhtar has made a strong comment on the arrest of Aryan Khan from the Mumbai Cruise Drugs Party. On Tuesday, Javed Akhtar said that Bollywood and the film industry are paying the price for being high profile. Pointing to the arrest of Shahrukh Khan's son Aryan Khan, he also targeted the media.
Addressing reporters on the sidelines of an event, Javed Akhtar said that cocaine worth one billion dollars is recovered from any port, but it does not make headlines in newspapers. But, on a cruise where there were 1200-1300 people, charas and ganja worth Rs 1.30 lakh are found from there, then it becomes headlines in the media.
Javed Akhtar said that when you become high profile, everyone starts pulling your leg. People throw stones at you. People throw mud at you. If you are not high profile, then who asks you. The film industry has to pay the price for being high profile.
It is to be known that Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) on a cruise from Mumbai to Goa. NCB had said that Aryan Khan went on a cruise with his friends to have a rave party. Aryan admitted during interrogation that he has been taking drugs for 4 years.
Javed Akhtar did not openly oppose this action of NCB but expressed in gestures that Aryan's arrest is wrong somewhere. Earlier, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Nawab Malik, who is also a minister in the Maha Vikas Aghadi government of Maharashtra, openly gave statements against the NCB.
NCP leader Nawab Malik accused the NCB of working at the behest of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Along with this, he also accused the director of NCB's Mumbai zone, Sameer Wankhede, of running an extortion gang. Nawab Malik said that NCB took this action to defame Shahrukh Khan. However, the NCB had vehemently denied his allegations.
