One year of Kathak practice, training with Birju Maharaj and practicing the hookup step for two months, well this was the amount of hard work and dedication, which Alia Bhatt put in, to get her steps perfect, for the song Ghar More Pardesiya from Kalank.

Alia said, "I prepared a lot. I think I might have got white hair also (laughs). The thing is I am not trained in classical dancing. I don't even consider myself a great dancer. I don't have that kind of kadakness in my body. This was a graceful number, again I don't consider myself graceful also."

The actress further added, "I trained one year for Kathak to learn the basic steps. And for this particular step which Remo sir has set, I rehearsed it for two and a half months. I was doing this step everywhere. Even when I was on the Brahmastra set I was doing the step. Everyone around me like, leave Alia alone she has gone mad. Then the last 2 days I went to Birju Maharaj to get the expressions correct. So once the song was finished I was like I can live again."

Sung by Shreya Ghoshal and Vaishali Mhade, Ghar More Pardesiya is written by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The music is given by Pritam, while the choreography is done by Remo D'Souza.
