Akshay Kumar Mourns the Death of Veteran Hockey Player Balbir Singh

Mumbai: Actor Akshay Kumar expressed grief over the demise of legendary hockey player Balbir Singh Sr. and recalled his amazing personality. Akshay also shared a picture with him on social media, in which he is seen with the late player.

Akshay wrote, "The news of the death of hockey legend Balbir Singh is sad. I had the privilege of meeting him in the past, a very wonderful personality! My heartfelt condolences to his family."

The hockey veteran was hospitalised on 8 May due to high fever and shortness of breath, although his Covid-19 test came negative. Balbir Singh Sr., a three-time Olympic gold medallist, died in a private hospital in Mohali on 25 May, in morning.
