TMC Leader Anubrata Mondal Under Scanner

The Election Commission has put controversial Trinamool Congress leader under sacnner on the eve of polling in Birbhum district.

The decision was made after the Commission received representations from poll workers saying they are feeling "threatened" if Mondal keeps moving from one booth to another on the polling day.

Trinamool Congress' Birbhum district president Anubrata Mondal has been put under house arrest from sunday evening a head of the fourth fphase of polling on Monday. He will be under the strict vigilance of the central forces till April 30.

An association of polling met Chief Electrol Officer seeking stringent  measure by house arresting Mondal for free and fair election.

In an Interview Mondal quoted saying that " Yes the central govt.has put me under house arrest but i don't know what led them to take such a step. These days centre act according to its own wishes.

In the fourth phase, 8 Lok Sabha seats will go to polls, including Asansol, Baharampur, Bardhaman (East), Bolpur, Ranaghat and Krishnagar.
