Mayawati Threatens Congress Government to Withdraw Support in MP

BSP chief Mayawati on Tuesday threatened to "Rethink" the Kamalnath-led government in Madhya Pradesh because her party candidate Guna has joined the Lok Sabha seat in the Congress.

BSP candidate from Guna Lokendra Singh Rajput joined the Congress on Monday evening and gave his support to the current MP of Guna and Congress candidate Jyotiraditya Scindia.

Responding to this, Mayawati said on her official Twitter handle, "Congress is not behind BJP in misusing government machinery. Congress has threatened to bring BSP candidate to Guna in the elections."

"But, the BSP will answer the election on its symbol and will rethink the continuation of support to the Congress government," he tweeted in Hindi.

In the last year's state assembly elections, the Congress emerged as the largest party with 114 seats in the 114-member house, with two most simple majority marks.

It formed the government with the support of two BSP legislators, a Samajwadi Party legislator and four independents.
