BSP chief Mayawati has justified her status in the monuments in Lucknow and Noida and said that it is a symbol of public sentiment. Given his work and sacrifice for the deprived and oppressed community in his Chief Ministers' tenure and being a Dalit woman leader, he has been depicted as a symbol of public sentiment while expressing his respect.

In the argument of the BSP's election symbol elephant and the statue of Supreme Court on its statues, the party's supremo Mayawati has cited the idols of Lord Rama to several former prime ministers. Bahujan Samaj Party President, while questioning the reverse question, why is not the same opposition of Lord Rama's proposed 221-meter high statue in Ayodhya?

In an affidavit given to the Supreme Court, Mayawati said that there is an old tradition of figuring sculptures in the country. He told the Supreme Court through his lawyer Shail Dwivedi, "Making souvenirs and making sculptures in India is not a new philosophy. During the Congress regime, the central and state governments have installed sculptures of Jawaharlal Nehru, Indira Gandhi, Rajiv Gandhi, P.V. Narasimha Rao, from the government treasury across the country. Neither the media nor the petitioner raised any questions regarding these statues.
