Patidar Arksan Andolan leader Hardik Patel said today that he will be joining the Congress on March 12 and if the legal hindrance does not come up and the party's decision, then he will also contest the Lok Sabha elections. A meeting of Congress Working Committee will be held in Ahmedabad in the presence of many senior party leaders including Rahul Gandhi, Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Priyanka Vadra, Dr. Manmohan Singh on March 12 and thereafter, there will be a rally in Adalaj near the capital Gandhinagar. It is understood that Hardik will join the Congress in the same rally.

It is known that if the High Court does not give relief to Hardik in the last year's sentence of a lower court in Gujarat, he will not be able to contest the next Lok Sabha election despite the will.

He has just approached the court for relief on March 8 and is likely to hear it next week.

Hardik, who openly campaigned for the Congress in the last assembly elections of Gujarat, tweeted after the Election Commission announced the dates for the Lok Sabha elections (on all the 26 seats in Gujarat on April 23) and said, 'Service of society and country In order to exercise my desire, I have decided to join the Indian National Congress on March 12 in the presence of Rahul Gandhi and other senior leaders.
