The Citizenship Amendment Bill 2019 will be introduced in the Rajya Sabha today. This bill was passed in the Lok Sabha on Monday. Home Minister Amit Shah will present it in the Rajya Sabha at 12 noon.

There are a total of 245 MPs in the Rajya Sabha, but the current strength is 240. In such a situation, the government needs the support of 121 MPs to pass the bill. The BJP has a total of 83 members. It needs the support of 38 other MPs.
