Citizenship Bill Will Be Presented in Rajya Sabha at 12 o’Clock

The Citizenship Amendment Bill 2019 will be introduced in the Rajya Sabha today. This bill was passed in the Lok Sabha on Monday. Home Minister Amit Shah will present it in the Rajya Sabha at 12 noon.

Earlier, after the meeting of BJP Parliamentary Party, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi gave this information. There are a total of 245 MPs in the Rajya Sabha, but the current strength is 240. In such a situation, the government needs the support of 121 MPs to pass the bill. The BJP has a total of 83 members. It needs the support of 38 other MPs.

After the meeting of the BJP Parliamentary Party, Union Minister Prahlad Joshi said that PM Modi asked all MPs to take suggestions from farmers and traders in their respective constituencies and give feedback to the Finance Minister.
