The protesting students say that they do not approve the convocation at Jawahar Nehru University if this decision will not withdrawn. They also say that the protest will continue till their demands are met. According to the information received, this time the convocation ceremony has been held by the JNU administration in All India Council of Technical Education Auditorium located at Vasant Kunj.

According to the information received, demonstrations are being organized against the increase in hostel fees by the university. Police has stopped the students by placing barricades on the premises of the All India Council for Technical Education before the auditorium. Due to this, the Nelson Mandela road has been blocked. At the same time, the police is requesting the students to maintain peace. A student demonstrating here says- 'For the last 15 days we have been protesting against the fee hike. In JNU, 40 percent of the students come from poor families. In such a situation, how are we able to receive education?

Students' Demands

The protesting students say that the decision to increase the fees should be withdrawn.

No service charge should be taken from the students in the hostel.

Time limit for travel to and from hostels should be eliminated.

Dress code should not be applied in hostels.

New hostel menu should be canceled completely.
