CBSE Class 12th Board: PM Modi to Chair Key Meeting Today

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair a key meeting on Class 12 board exams on Tuesday evening. After extensive discussion with all states and other stakeholders, PM will be briefed about all the possible options for holding the Class 12 examinations. Meanwhile, the Central government will file their reply in the supreme court on 3 June on CBSE Class 12 board exams 2021.

Earlier, Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank was scheduled to announce a decision on board exams today, but he has been admitted to AIIMS in Delhi due to post-Covid-related complications. According to AIIMS officials, Pokhriyal was brought to the hospital at 11:30 am on Tuesday morning. The Minister had tested positive for COVID-19 on April 21. In such a situation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself will preside over this meeting.

Class X exams canceled:

CBSE had on April 14 announced the cancellation of Class 10 exams and postponement of Class 12 exams in view of the spike in coronavirus cases. The education ministry had recently sought detailed suggestions from states and union territories on the proposals discussed in a high-level meeting on the issue.

On the other hand, Delhi Chief Arvind Kejriwal has demanded to cancel the CBSE examination. He tweeted and demanded that all the students should be vaccinated before appearing for the board examination.

Over 21 lakh students supposed to appear in Class X CBSE board exams:

Nearly 21,50,761 students scheduled to appear in Class X CBSE board exams. Meanwhile, 14,30,243 students supposed to take the Class XII exams. CBSE, in normal circumstances, schedules Board exams for Classes X and XII from February 15 to the first week of April.
