The semester registration date has been extended once again, amidst protests at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). Now registration can be done till January 17 for the winter semester. No late fees will also be charged for this. The JNU administration informed about this on Thursday.

'Winter session registration date has been extended till 17 January' There will be no late fees for this. It was said that such registration would continue till 9 February. But after 17, late fees will be Rs 500.

After passing this deadline, the vice-chancellor can consider the written requests for registration and allow late registration with fine if the reason is found correct, the official said.

In fact, protests are going on at Jawaharlal Nehru University over the fee hike. Due to this a section of students have opposed registration. To stop the registration, the students had also shut down the server room, which was also delayed.
