Sensex Gained 228 Points, Nifty Closed Below 10850

On the last trading day of the week, the stock market closed up. The Bombay Stock Exchange's Sensex rose 228.23 points to 36,701.16 and the National Stock Exchange's Nifty rose 88.00 points to 10,829.35.

Of the 50 Nifty stocks, 41 closed at the green mark and 9 at the red mark. The Sensex opened 85.25 points down at 36,387.68 today. Whereas, the Nifty opened 41.75 points down at 10,699.60 today.

Among the BSE scrips, VEDL, YESBANK, ONGC, M&M and TATAMOTORS were the stocks. Shares of BSE which saw a decline were INDUSINDBK, ITC, ICICIBANK, POWERGRID.
