A bug has been found in Apple iOS that can lock nearby iPhones. This flaw is found in AirDrop, under which files are transferred between Apple devices. By taking advantage of this bug, attackers can send files continuously and eventually a situation of phone lock can occur.

Security researcher Kishan Bagaria has revealed this bug. Phones can be locked by sending files to nearby iOS devices, i.e., those in the iPhone or iPad wireless range. When the file is received, iOS blocks the display of the smartphone until you accept or reject the file.

Attackers can keep sending files continuously to block the use of the phone. Since the drawback in iOS is that there is no provision in this operating system how many files can be received from AirDrop. Attackers can affect the device by sending files continuously.

Through open source tools, Bulgaria has continuously sent files to Apple devices within the AirDrop range. A target can be any device which is also in the wireless range. He also uploaded the video on YouTube, in which he is giving the demo.

Kishan Bagaria has named this bug as AirDoS which is a kind of denial of service attack which can block user access for some time. The thing to note is that only those people who have set AirDrop to Everyone can be affected by this bug.

It cannot be attacked when Bluetooth is off. Bagria says that the most difficult thing is that if this attack starts, it is impossible to turn off the phone's Bluetooth too, because this box remains constant and you are unable to use the phone.

Now Apple has released an update to fix this. iOS 13.3 does not have this issue. If you have not updated your iPhone then go to Settings and update iOS 13.3.
