Former India cricketers Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag welcomed the air strikes carried out by fighter jets of the Indian Air Force early morning on Tuesday.

Sehwag and Gambhir, both of whom have been vocal on the issue following the terror attack in Pulwama, tweeted to let people know their reaction.

The terror attack on CRPF convoy on February 14th saw 40 soldiers getting martyred. A suicide bomber, identified as Adil Ahmed Dar, rammed an explosive-laden SUV into a bus carrying CRPF soldiers. Pakistan-based terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad had claimed the responsibility of the attack.

The attack shook the whole nation with demands of revenge growing with each passing day.

The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Tuesday conducted air strikes across the Line of Control (LoC) targetting several terror camps. A group of Indian fighter jets Mirage 2000 struck and completely destroyed a major terror camp across LoC.

The retaliation from India comes just eleven days after the ghastly Pulwama terror attack. As fans took to social media to laud the Indian army, Indian cricketers Gautam Gambhir and Virender Sehwag also hailed the Indian forces for avenging the Pulwama terror attack.

A source indicated that the operation was carried out between 3:50 AM and 4:05 AM.

The strikes were carried out at Balakot, Muzaffarabad and Chakothi. As many as 12 Mirage 2000 Fighter jets participated in the strikes.
