Since the removal of Article 370, the Pakistan Army has been continuously firing on the Line of Control (LoC) to infiltrate terrorists.On Sunday, the Pak army opened heavy fire in Shahpur sector of Poonch. During this time Hemraj Jat, a grenadier of the Indian Army, was martyred. The Indian Army has also given a befitting reply. It has reported significant losses across the border.

According to the information, at around 1.30 pm on Sunday afternoon, the Pak Army started heavy shelling targeting the residential areas with advance posts in Shahpur sector of Poonch. The firing from Pakistan continued after the Indian Army retaliated. During this time Hemraj Jat, a grenadier of the Indian Army, was injured. He was immediately rushed by other soldiers to the hospital where he was martyred. Confirming this, Jammu Defense PRO Lieutenant Colonel Devendra Anand said that the martyred jawan Grenadier Hemraj Jat was a resident of Badun Tehsil Rupangarh District Alwar in Rajasthan.

Army officials are monitoring the situation. From Kashmir to the Jammu division, the Pak Army is trying every day to infiltrate the terrorists. The jawans are fully attentive. The Pak army has also intensified across the border. Significantly, on Saturday, Army Chief Bipin Rawat visited the forward posts of Poonch and Rajouri to take stock of the situation. He had instructed the field commanders to respond to any daring from across the border.
