Congress President Rahul Gandhi on Saturday accused BJP-led government of compromising on tackling the challenge of terrorism and cited the release of Jaish-e-Mohammad chief Masood Azhar during the NDA regime.

Addressing a press conference here at Congress headquarters, he said, if voting is done in the state, then his party will adopt a more rigorous approach than Narendra Modi's approach to counter-terrorism.

"Masood is a terrorist, he should be punished, but who sent him Pakistan?", The Congress chief asked that his party never returned the terrorist back to Pakistan. Accusing the BJP-led government of destroying the country's economy, he said, "I see a scared prime minister these days, who is unable to face opposition attack."

Accusing the Election Commission (EC) of being "completely biased" towards the opposition, Gandhi said that according to an internal survey of Congress, the BJP is losing the Lok Sabha elections running.
