North Korea Raised the World’s Concern by Testing Missiles from a Train

Deepak Sharma

North Korea's increasing missile tests have raised the world's concern. North Korea on Wednesday tested a ballistic missile for the first time from a missile system built on a train. The United Nations Security Council has expressed concern over this. France's ambassador to the United Nations, Nicolas Rivers, said that countries included in the UN Security Council say such missile tests are a major threat to peace and security and are also a violation of council resolutions. According to North Korea's Central News Agency (KCNA), the missile launched on Wednesday was intended to test a railway-based missile system. It is designed to respond to any threat to North Korea.

What will be the benefit to North Korea?

North Korea can now launch missiles from any corner of the country by preparing the technology of missile test by train because there is a railway network throughout North Korea. However, in times of crisis, North Korea's railway network can also become an easy target of attackers. US missile expert Adam Mount says that for countries who want to increase their nuclear power, train-based missile systems are a cheap and reliable option. Russia had also prepared this system and America is also considering it.

SLBM was tested only on Wednesday

Let us tell you that on Wednesday itself, South Korea has also test-fired a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM). It has become the first country to develop this system without nuclear weapons. However, the arms race between North Korea and South Korea is increasing rapidly. Both countries are testing new weapons as well as high-capacity missiles.

North Korea also tested a new long-range missile on Sunday. This missile can hit a distance of 1500 km. In this range, N. Korea can mostly target Japan. The Korean Central News Agency said that this cruise missile was being prepared for two years. American experts believe that this missile is likely to have a nuclear capability system. North Korea said the missile is an important strategic weapon, in line with the country's vision of increasing the country's military might. At the same time, a cruise missile was also launched in January.
