New Army Chief Manoj Mukund Narwane holds an expertise over Pak-China War Strategies

The Indian Army has got a new chief. On Tuesday, Lieutenant General Manoj Mukund Narwane took command of the Army. Narwane succeeded General Bipin Rawat, who has been appointed as the first Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) of the country after serving as Army Chief for three years.

Rawat handed over the charge to Narwane by handing over the baton as per tradition at Sena Bhawan in New Delhi. Narwane, who hails from Maharashtra, is known for success on a difficult front and excellent leadership ability. Along with this, the new army chief is quite popular among his colleagues and staff due to his clean image and good behavior. Vigilant officer honored with several awards

Narwane was till now Deputy Chief of the Army. Narwane is always known as a vigilant officer among senior Army officers. He is said to have told the soldiers to remain the same even if there is peace on LAC. It is always important for them not to harm their jawan in any way. In his long career, General Narwane received many accolades. He has been awarded the Army Medal, Distinguished Service Medal.

Strong grip on matters related to China

Narwane has good experience working on the China border. He was the Chief of the Eastern Command of the Army, which takes care of the nearly four thousand km border with China before becoming Deputy Chief of Army Staff in September.

During his 37 years of service, Narwane held many important positions in Jammu and Kashmir and the Northeast. He commanded the National Rifles Battalion in Jammu and Kashmir and led the Infantry Brigade on the Eastern Front. He was part of the Indian Peace Keeping Force in Sri Lanka and was a defense attache at the Indian Embassy in Myanmar for three years.
