An AN-32 aircraft of the Indian Air Force, who flew to the Mechuka Advanced Landing Ground in Arunachal Pradesh, lost contact with the ground station on Monday. In 1225 hours, an aircraft flying from Jorhat of Assam lost contact with the Ground station at around 1300 hours and failed to reach the specified airspace. Indian Express reported that the crew had eight crew members and five passengers on board.

Air Force is using all its resources to detect aircraft. A Sukhoi-30MKI, C-130 Special Operations Aircraft has been deployed on a search mission. Mechuka Advanced Landing Ground is located in the Muchuka Valley in the West Siang District of Arunachal Pradesh. It is the closest landing ground on the Indo-China border near the McMahon Line.

Antonov AN-32 is a strategic transport aircraft used by the Indian Air Force and is in service since 1984. AN-32 has been a trustworthy field for many years for the IAF and it is designed to be used extensively.
