Bhima Army Chief Arrested in Daryaganj Violence Case

The police have arrested the chief of the Bhim Army on Friday for violent protests in Delhi's Daryaganj area in protest against the Citizenship Amendment Act. According to the information received, the Crime Branch has arrested Chandrashekhar, Chief of the Bhim Army, in connection with the arson and violent disturbance that took place during the demonstrations in Daryaganj on Saturday evening.

So far 16 people have been arrested in the violence during the demonstrations on Saturday. A case has been registered against all the accused arrested under sections 186, 353, 332, 147, 148, 149, 160, and 353B of the IPC.

According to the information received from the police, Delhi Police for the first time arrested Chandrashekhar by filing a case under serious sections. Now he will have to stay in Tihar Jail for a long time.

Delhi Police had warned Chandrasekhar not to come to Delhi, but was not accepting it. In August, he had riots in South Delhi in the case of breaking the Ravidas temple. The police registered a case and sent him to jail after arrest. When the Supreme Court said that the temple should be built there and the cases against those who were arrested should be withdrawn and all should be dropped. Then a month ago Chandra Shekhar was released from jail.
