JAIPUR: Indian Air Force Chief BS Dhanoa and Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman flew together in the fighter aircraft MiG-21 on Monday. Wing Commander Abhinandan and Air Force Chief flew together in the MiG-21 at the Pathankot airbase.

Pakistan also retaliated after the air force launched an airstrike on 26 February in terrorist attacks in Balakot. At that time Abhinandan was flying the MiG-21 in Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (PoK). Air Force chief BS Dhanoa is also a pilot of the MiG-21. He flew MiG-21 aircraft during the Kargil War in 1999 while commanding the 17th Squadron of the Air Force.

Chief of the Indian Air Force, Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa and Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman flew in the trainer version of the MiG-21 Type 69 fighter aircraft. This was the last flight of the Chief of Air Staff in the fighter aircraft MiG-21. Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa, the Chief of Air Staff, took a flight in the MiG-21 trainer at the Air Force Station Pathankot with Wing Commander Abhinandan. This is the IAF Chief's last ride in a fighter aircraft MiG-21 before retirement. He took a 30-minute ride today at around 11.30 am.

After riding the MiG-21, Air Chief Marshal BS Dhanoa said that it was a pleasure for me to fly with Abhinandan as he has got his flying class back, which is why all the pilots are waiting. I was also evicted in 1988, it took me 9 months to withdraw my category. He is back in less than 6 months.

Air Force Chief BS Dhanoa said that both of us have two things in common – one of us excluded both and the other that we both faced Pakistanis. I fought in Kargil, fought after Abhinandan Balakot. The third thing is that I have also flown with his father. It is an honor for me that I took the last ride of the MiG-21 with his son
