New Zealand Team to Start Squad Training at High Performance Training Center: NZC

New Zealand's top cricketers will start training at the high-performance center from this week. New Zealand Cricket (NZC) issued this statement on Monday. Let us tell you that earlier New Zealand has lifted almost all of its coronavirus restrictions after the country declared as COVID-19 free.

The board will organize 6 national camps for both men and women cricketers in the next few months. This week the Blackcaps (men's team) team will begin training at Canterbury, while the second camp will start at Bay Oval from 19 July. Meanwhile, the women's team began practice at the high-performance training center in Lincoln from Monday. This is New Zealand's first cricket camp after the lockdown.

New Zealand declared virus-free on 8 June:

New Zealand became the first country in the world to become Corona free on 8 June last month. It was announced by Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern herself. Then PM said that I am proud of my country and people here. We won a very difficult battle together.

New Zealand followed 7-week strict lockdown:

New Zealand has a population of less than 5 million. The first case of Corona was registered here in late February. The government formed a four-point program with medical experts and it was strictly enforced. There was a strict lockdown of 7 weeks and was reviewed every week. A total of 1154 cases were reported in the country, while 22 people died. About three lakh people were tested.

Sports events started in the presence of spectators:

After this, sports events have also started in the country. The Auckland Blues and Wellington Hurricanes competed in the Super Rugby League here on 13 June last month. More than 43000 spectators had arrived to watch this match in Eden Park. The 15-year-old record of spectators' presence was broken here. It was the first professional sports event in New Zealand after Coronavirus.
