There have been big impact seen on sports worldwide due to coronavirus. Many games, tournaments, and leagues have been postponed or canceled while Japan has denied to postpone Olympics to be held this year. On the other hand, India's chief badminton coach Pullela Gopichand believes that the Tokyo Olympics should be postponed due to the coronavirus epidemic.

Gopichand said, 'I have many doubts about the Olympics. It is not that it is far away. Preparation has already started. So the IOC will now have to call everyone and ask them to rest. I think this is a difficult time in the current scenario. The whole world is concerned about health and safety. So I think it is better if the Olympics are postponed in view of this situation.'

Significantly, the Tokyo Olympics is to be held from July 24 to August 9. Earlier on Wednesday, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) said the Tokyo Olympics were expected to begin on schedule. Let us tell you that more than 8000 people have lost their lives due to this dangerous virus, while more than 200,000 people are infected globally.
